Three Magi spent the day herding reindeer across the tundra, their robes tucked into heavy boots as snow drifted over the hills. By evening, their fingers were cold, their beards were windswept, and one particularly stubborn reindeer had led them in a very large circle.

“I believe,” said the eldest, “that we have earned a warm bath.”

Back at their cabin, they left their boots by the fire and took turns soaking away the day. With each lather, the scent of frankincense, cedar, and myrrh rose through the steam.

Outside, the reindeer settled quietly beneath the stars. At last, the Magi could do the same.
